Jive Aces back at the Aldwych for their Not Quite Christmas show

The UK’s No. 1 Jive and Swing Band The Jive Aces   are back at the Aldwych again this December with their “Not Quite Christmas” show – and some more big star guests.

Special guest performers include; The Godfather of Swing,  Ray Gelato; Vintage swing singing princess and BBC TV star, Rebecca Grant; Post-modern harmony trio, The London Belles; the silky voiced jazz chanteuse, Noelle Vaughn; Irish rhythm & blues singer, Alan Power; Award winning tap dancer, Adele Joel; Swiss Boogie Woogie sensation LADYVA, Crazy lindy hoppers Joseph and Charlotte from JiveSwing.com and the band’s own Italian Queen of accordion Grazia Bevilacqua!

During lockdown the band played 500 consecutive live streams for their fans and an amazing community was formed. The band all live close and moved in together so they could use their studio through the pandemic.

One of their favourite songs (there are so many!) to perform is ‘Bring Me Sunshine’. Recently on “Strictly Come Dancing” they paid tribute to the 100th anniversary of the BBC and opened the show with a huge production number of “Bring Me Sunshine”…not only using The Jive Aces arrangement almost note for note, but the whole routine was very heavily inspired by their music video even starting with a newsreader playing the ukulele!

The Jive Aces have also supported the “Truth About Drugs” campaign for many years, giving concerts all over the world to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and the solutions to the drug problem. When asked about the band’s strong anti-drug stance, lead singer Ian Clarkson said, “People look up to musicians and see them taking drugs and think that they then have to use them to be a great artist. What they don’t realise is that without drugs they would be a lot happier, play a lot better and live a lot longer”.
