The Success Matrix

Last year, the most common issue I coached on was people’s financial woes. So to get 2015 off to a good start —I’ve decided to do something about it. If this is the year that you want to increase your earning potential — I hope I can help massively.

The Success MatrixWhether it’s coaching, training or I’m doing one of my motivational or educational talks — I religiously follow a system I designed. I call it “The Success Matrix.”

So the first thing we must do to improve any area of our life (including our financial position) is to adopt the best attitude for what we are about to do. This shifts our emotional state. When we heighten or energize our emotional state, it is difficult to feel low or think negatively, so this is always a good place to start.

The next thing we must do is to commit to at least one action. Taking action by doing not everything, but just one thing, the one key driver that will get you the result you are seeking. This helps to build our skill and building skills over time gives us mastery over our craft.

For most, mastery is not typically our first action, though if we can get a result, it often has us wanting to get another result, and another, and another. This is not a case of growing all our skills, just the specific ones that give us the results that we need.

Time + Focus = Mastery

A common mistake that people make in their businesses and careers, is that they aim to learn everything, as opposed to keeping focused on their main game. That’s why the world has a wide variety of skills and talents. Therefore we can always find others who are able to provide what we do not have and they love to do the things we do not.

These days, we need to niche our talents, not become the all-rounder or a jack-of-all-trades that we have been trained to become. This one mistake had me struggling for financial success for years and years.

The one key driver I needed to master was communication. Later I made the valuable distinction to master transformational communication and when I did, my career took a quantum leap! This is the financial value of this formula: Time + Focus = Mastery.

The last step to continued success in any area, is to systematise our actions in simple and replicable ways — in other words, create a routine that we can commit to and one that will ensure success over time. That’s “The Success Matrix.” Follow it, commit to it and you will find success — I guarantee it. It’s a powerful philosophy and one I live by. Though we know that all success starts with a decision…

What is your next decision?
