The Inner Health Guide to Glowing Skin!

The Inner Health Guide to Glowing Skin!

Fresh, glowing, supple skin is the window to showcasing that you’re healthy and looking your best… So, perhaps trying to hold onto, or obtaining this, is literally the ultimate holy grail of skincare as we age!! But the question remains for many of us in our 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s – how do I get it back, just like how my complexion and skin used to look in my late teens/early 20’s???

And sometimes it seems like the more we want it, the more out of reach it is… But rest assured that as long as you take good care of yourself from the inside, as well as the outside, radiant, envy-inducing and glowing skin IS within reach….  so with some small changes to your daily routine and your lifestyle – you can help support your skin from the inside!

For some time now, naturopaths have been explaining that the gut is the first port of call for skincare support – again, it’s all about beauty from within. So let’s take a closer look at exactly what that means, and how it can help you get your glow on and achieve that supple, smooth skin you’re after…

Good Gut Health

Gut inflammation may appear as bloating, constipation or diarrhoea, excessive gas, nausea, and even low energy – there are many different signs and symptoms with underlying gut dysfunction as the trigger. But how does this effect my skin you ask?
Well, gut inflammation can equal skin inflammation, leading to an increased risk of acne, lumps and bumps or just generally inflamed-looking skin (hello redness) and even just slower skin healing.  I know you’ll next ask how you can reduce gut inflammation? Well you can from minimising inflammatory food intake such as sugar and highly-processed foods… and then assist your gut health with the likes of drinking collagen tea, more water and eating more fresh fruit and veg.

What’s also important is assisting your liver to also do it’s job which is removing toxins and excess hormones! So try increasing foods like broccoli, kale or brussels sprouts, and removing substances that put extra pressure on your liver such as alcohol, coffee, sugar and synthetic body care products.
Also, focus on good bacteria for gut-health such as yoghurt, kimchi and leeks, onions and garlic which help balance the gut microbiome.
Lastly, ensure that you’re having enough fibre to assist your bowels and clear out toxins, which is where more fresh fruit and veg can assist as well as including a diet of wholegrains and legumes!!!

Water, water, water – it’s called hydration

We all hear the daily motto – drink a minimum of 2 litres of water per day! We know this, but many of us don’t do it…..  On a serious note, water keeps your body hydrated and refreshed, and helps maintain your skin’s elasticity. Plus, it’s right there in every tap in our homes, and it’s so easy to do…. Just build up daily and even try to get to three litres per day if you can! Many research findings have proven that people who drink large amounts of water are less likely to suffer from scars, wrinkles, and fine lines, plus they may not show as many signs of ageing as those who drink little amounts of water.
If you think about it, the more water you consume, the more you can flush your body, your system, your liver and kidneys, helping the body to stay hydrated, the organs to work optimally, detox your body of impurities, waste and sweat, and to support your skin to appear more hydrated with improved skin elasticity. So, in the name of hydration – try to drink 2 litres of water per day, and you’ll simply feel the difference, let alone see the difference in your skin and your complexion.

Collagen Skin & Support

And lastly – don’t forget to support your collagen intake to support your body function from within and in turn improve your skin’s appearance! Try drinking collagen infused organic teas to assist your natural collagen levels, as collagen acts as the glue in your body and the major structural protein that supports your body functions, joint and tendon health, gut-health as well as promoting improved skin, hair and nail growth.

So there you have it – the inner health guide to glowing skin! Remember that clear, radiant skin is the result of what we put IN to our bodies as well as what we put ON our skin, but is also a result of what is happening internally as well…… so feed your skin and your body, try drinking Fusspot Collagen Beauty Tea’s Glow Junkie loose leaf tea, as it’s packed with antioxidants, polyphenols and hydrolyzed collagen peptides to support your skin and your inner glow, and will also help your immunity, energy and overall wellbeing.
